3lb Mycelio Red Milo mushroom grain spawn bag with injection port for wholesale buyers

Grain Spawn Bags

Mycelio's Sterile Grain Spawn Bags

Mycelio’s sterile grain spawn bags are designed to give cultivators a clean, reliable start. Each 3lb bag is pressure-sterilized and sealed under laminar flow, equipped with a self-healing injection port and a 0.2-micron filter patch to support consistent colonization.

We offer two of the industry’s most trusted grains — Red Milo (sorghum) for its smaller kernel size and fast colonization, and Rye Berries for their balanced nutrition and proven reliability.

Culture not included.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Always begin by sanitizing workspace, tools, bags, & gloves.

Step 1: Inoculate (Genetics not included)

  • Shake the syringe to evenly distribute the culture before injecting.

  • Swab the injection port with 70% isopropyl alcohol; flame-sterilize the needle.

  • Inject 5 cc of liquid culture through the self-healing injection port, aiming for the grain layer.

IMPORTANT: If doing multiple bags, briefly re-flame the needle between bags.

Step 2: Incubate

  • Let the grain colonize the grain bag for 10–21 days at 70–75°F (timing varies by culture and room conditions).

  • At ~30% colonization, gently break up & redistribute the grains to speed even growth.

  • Keep the bag in a clean, dark spot with stable room temps.

  • Recommendation: Redistribute grains again at ~80% for uniform finish.

For the next stage, you will need: Mycelio Substrate Fruiting Bag.

Always work in a clean environment. If you see or smell contamination, discard the bag safely and do not consume.
