Mycelio’s 3 lb Red Milo Sorghum Spawn Bags are prepared with consistency and reliability in mind. Red milo sorghum is a preferred grain among cultivators for its balanced nutrient profile and even hydration, which supports strong and uniform mycelial growth.

All of our grain is processed in small batches. Each batch is soaked for 16–24 hours to induce germination of hidden contaminants. The grain is then boiled to optimal hydration, drained, and allowed to air dry on racks to achieve the proper surface moisture. Once dry, the grain is weighed into 3 lb polypropylene filter bags, pressure sterilized, sealed, and shipped.

We’re also mindful of ingredient sensitivity. Our sourcing and preparation methods are allergy-conscious—we avoid common allergens like corn and opt for alternatives wherever possible, including in any nutrient or moisture additives.
