Mycelio’s premium manure-based substrate is designed specifically for dung-loving mushroom species. It’s a rich mix of shredded horse manure, coconut coir, vermiculite, and gypsum—hydrated to field capacity and thoroughly pasteurized for optimal performance. Delivered ready to use, just mix in your colonized spawn either directly in the bag, or in a monotub, and get growing.

What to Expect:
When first opened, you may notice a mild earthy odor from the manure. That’s normal—it fades quickly during colonization. The pasteurization and packaging process compresses the substrate into a dense block. When prepping your tub, break it apart and fluff it up before adding your spawn to ensure even mixing and airflow.

Bag Note:
Our 3 lb substrate bags are not sealed with a traditional closure. Instead, the plastic gusset seals tightly on itself during the pasteurization process, creating a natural barrier to contamination. You’ll need to manually unroll and pull apart the bag to open it. These methods have been proven effective in both shipping and storage.
